Who Needs Financial Intelligence?
The National Council on Economic Education:
• The average grade for students in grades 9th-12th was a failing score of 53% on economics and finance
• 94% of students learn money management from their parents, but unfortunately their parents also failed the study
According to a 2007 Harris Poll:
• 49% of adults stated they are concerned they have not paid enough attention to managing their finances as they should have
• 48% are concerned they don't know enough about financial planning
• The average American household has approximately $10,000 in total credit card debt and has nine open credit card accounts
• The number of 18 to 24 year-olds declaring bankruptcy has increased 96 percent in 10 years.
